YI (NEMIA) ZHOU

Yi (Nemia) Zhou, M.Ed., is a doctoral student in Curriculum and Instruction at George Washington University. Her research examines how preservice and early-career teachers interpret and respond to student behavior, with particular attention to professional learning communities, professional vision, power, and classroom context. Drawing on her experience teaching psychology and counseling secondary school students, she is interested in developing reflective, context-sensitive approaches to teacher learning, student well-being, teacher-student relationships, school culture/climate building, and the prevention of mental disorders.
