Krandhasi Kodaiarasu (she/they) is a first-year doctoral student in the School Psychology program at University of Maryland, College Park. Krandhasi graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle with a B.S. in Psychology. Prior to attending UMD, Krandhasi worked as a Mental Health Specialist at an inpatient unit specializing in acute stabilization and treatment for suicidal children and teens. She was also a post- baccalaureate clinical fellow at McLean Hospital, while being involved in research at Harvard analyzing data examining variation in self-report scales of non-suicidal self- injury and suicidal behaviors. Her current research interests broadly include trauma- informed care for marginalized youth, transformative social-emotional learning practices, and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). She is also interested in studying trauma within immigrant/refugee youth and analyzing the impact of adverse childhood experiences (including cultural and risk factors such as cultural values, geopolitics, and ethnic disparities) on their academic and mental health outcomes.
